One note before we start: the browser version at play.cricket07.in runs from your game files, so the modes available to you depend on the files and build you are using. Everything below describes the original game's full mode list.
Play Now (Exhibition Matches)
The quickest way into a game. Pick two teams, a venue and a match length, and you are at the toss in under a minute. Exhibition matches support Test cricket, Limited Overs and short formats, which makes Play Now the best place to practise your batting and bowling controls before committing to a tournament.
If you are new, start here with a 5-over match. Our How to Play guide walks through the setup screens step by step.
The Ashes
The Ashes content is the heart of Cricket 07, and the game ships with two complete campaigns plus a challenge mode:
2006-07 Ashes Series (Australia)
Take England or Australia through the full tour Down Under: warm up matches, the ODIs and all five Tests. This was the headline mode when the game launched, releasing right as the real series began.
2005 Ashes Series (England)
The return leg. Play the legendary 2005 series in England from the first warm up to the final Test. If you only know one Ashes series, it is probably this one.
Ashes 2005 Scenarios
Scenario challenges drop you into famous moments from the 2005 series and ask you to either recreate the outcome or rewrite it. Completing challenges unlocks highlights videos in the Extras section. These scenarios are a real test of skill because you inherit the match situation rather than building it yourself.
World Championship
A Limited Overs tournament for the World Cup trophy with up to 16 international teams. This is the closest thing in the game to a Cricket World Cup: group stages, knockouts and a final. Expect a long campaign, so save your progress between matches (save shortcuts are in the Controls Guide).
World Series
A day/night Limited Overs tournament played across Australian venues with three to five teams. It mirrors the old triangular series format, with teams facing each other multiple times before the finals. Shorter than the World Championship and a good middle ground between an exhibition and a full tournament.
Knockout Trophy
Straight elimination. Win and you advance, lose and you are out. The Knockout Trophy is the highest pressure tournament in the game because one bad session can end your run. Great for players who want tournament stakes without a long group stage.
Test Series and Tours
Beyond the Ashes, you can set up Test series and full tours between international sides, combining Tests and One Day matches into a single campaign. Tests reward patience: building an innings, rotating your bowlers and using the new ball properly matter far more here than in the short formats.
English County Cricket
Cricket 07 includes a full English domestic season with all four competitions of its era:
- County Season: play all four tournaments across one season with any of the 18 county sides
- Liverpool Victoria County Championship: the four-day, two-innings divisional competition
- NatWest Pro40: the 40-over league
- C&G Trophy: the one-day knockout cup
- Twenty20 Cup: the licensed Twenty20 competition, the shortest and most explosive format in the game
The Twenty20 Cup is a favourite for quick sessions. Twenty overs a side keeps matches fast while still giving you a real contest.
Australian State Cricket
The Australian domestic calendar is in the game too:
- State Season: a full season with the Australian state sides
- Pura Cup: the first-class, multi-day competition
- One Day Domestic Series: the 50-over state competition
- KFC Twenty20 Big Bash: the Twenty20 tournament, with teams split into two pools of three
Practice Nets and Extras
Practice Nets lets you face deliveries or bowl without match pressure, which is the ideal place to learn shot timing against different bowler types. The game also includes Create a Player and team management options, and the My Cricket section handles profiles, saves and rosters.
